Moving Forward in Today’s Economy

We are all experiencing the challenges of our current economy. For many business is down, layoffs have occurred and the future is uncertain. For others, the economic downturn has provided an opportunity to do better.

My experience locally from talking with many business people is that the IT sector is relatively healthy here in WNY. Many companies are growing and at least attempting to hire qualified people. I’ll get into the “attempting” to hire part in another post looking at the availability of qualified IT talent in the region.

Coming next Thursday, infoTech Niagara is proud to be welcoming Dr. Philip Swan, Chief Economist from IBM for a presentation entitled “ Moving Forward in Today’s Economy.”

This should be an especially interesting presentation as we hear from academic and government economists, but hardly ever from an economist from the private sector.

Dr. Swan will be discussing the state of the economy, recovery aspects, the impact of policies and how you can move your business forward in today’s challenging times.

This is a can’t miss event if you’re in business!
